Analytics That Works is an independent publication by Chris Gerrard, organized around and dedicated to the principle that Analytics is only as useful and valuable as it is effective in helping People access, see, analyze, and understand the information contained in their data, i.e. the data that matters to them.
Who ATW is for
Analytics That Works is intended to support everyone involved in analytics.
Individuals who need to understand the information contained in their data; the technical term for them is "analyst". ATW's position is that everyone with a data-informtional interest should be an analyst, to the limit of their intellectual and analytical abilities. To be absolutely clear: in order for analytics to work well, everyone who needs to understand data must be an analyst of their own data; when this is not the case analytics falls short of fulfilling its basic promise.
Institutional stakeholders with broader responsibilities. e.g. safeguarding the institution's data, ensuring that people can only access data appropriately.
